How Often Do I Have to Replace Filter Cartridges?
Most cartridge filters for rainwater harvesting should be replaced every 12 months. Of course, this is dependent on the type of system installed and environmental factors including the amount of vegetation surrounding your property and covering your catchment.
Which Filter Is Best For Me?
Water Tank Techs will recommend a filter system based on how you use your water. A single 10″ x 2.5″ filter housing with a 50 micron Poly Spun cartridge is perfect for filtering water for washing machines and toilets but not enough for drinking water.
Can I Wash and Re-Use a Cartridge Filter?
Some cartridge filters are supposed to be washable, particularly those that utilise a pleated polyester medium. However, this only gets rid of larger particles. As a general rule, a cartridge should be replaced at least every 12 months.
